SacLegal Scholarship 2018

SacLegal Scholarship Award Application 2018
Description and Instructions

SacLegal and the Unity Bar will award a total of $2,000 (half provided by SacLegal and half provided by the Unity Bar) to a qualifying law student who demonstrates a commitment to serve and contribute as a future leader to the LGBTQ community. To be eligible, please complete the application on the next page. Proof of current enrollment as a student in good standing at a law school in Sacramento or Yolo County is required. The award is open to all students, but is geared towards experience as a member of, or contribution to, the LGBTQ community.

SacLegal is a professional association of attorneys, legal professionals, and legislative advocates, affiliated with the Sacramento County Bar Association. Our mission is to promote equality for members of the LGBTQ community, through strong leadership, legislative advocacy, education, and participation in civic and social activities within the legal community and community at large.

The Sacramento Unity Bar Association is a coalition of six separate bar associations in the Sacramento region, and serves as a collective voice for the Asian/Pacific Bar Association, La Raza Lawyers Bar Association, SacLegal, Wiley W. Manuel Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association of Sacramento, Women Lawyers of Sacramento and Leonard M. Friedman Bar Association. The Unity Bar seeks to promote the interests of attorneys and future attorneys in the increasingly diverse Sacramento region. Each year the Unity Bar hosts an Annual Awards and Scholarship Banquet. The Banquet will be held on: Thursday, November 1, 2018, at The Grand Hotel, 1215 J St, Sacramento, CA 95814. Dinner and presentations will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Presentation of the scholarship: SacLegal will present the scholarship at the Sacramento County Unity Bar Annual Awards and Scholarship Banquet, where the selected award recipient will attend as a SacLegal guest, unless the recipient is an evening student with classes that conflict.
