Legal Resources

State Bar of California: The California State Bar is the largest state bar in the country. With over 150,000 active members, the California State Bar regulates the professional conduct of California's attorneys.

California Lawyers Association:  The California Lawyers Association (CLA) is a member-driven, mission-focused organization dedicated to the professional advancement of attorneys practicing in the state of California.  Established in 2018, CLA is a nonprofit, voluntary organization and the new home of the Sections of the State Bar of California and the California Young Lawyers Association. 

Capital Pro Bono (CPB):  CPB is a volunteer-based pro bono legal aid program that provides free assistance with civil legal matters to low income clients living in the Sacramento region.

Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC): The mission of LSNC is to provide quality legal services to empower the poor to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty within their community efficiently utilizing all available resources.

National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR): NCLR is a national organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education.

Lambda Legal: Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.

Transgender Law Center: The Transgender Law Center website contains a collection of resources on transgender law and advocates to ensure that all Californians, regardless of gender identity, can fully participate in society.


Student Resources

McGeorge Lambda Law Students: The McGeorge Lambda Law Students Association seeks to promote awareness of civil rights and GLBT issues involved in the law while developing and training attorneys sensitive to GLBT issues.

UC Davis Lambda Law Students: The UC Davis Lambda Law Students Association is a student organized and run group within the law school representing the interests of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community at King Hall, with a mission of activism, education and community.

Lambda Lincoln Law Chapter: The Lincoln Lambda Law Students Association is a student founded and maintained organization representing the interests of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied community with a mission of activism, education and community outreach.


Community Resources

Sacramento LGBT Community Center: The Sacramento LGBT Community Center creates events, programs, and pathways to services that help lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people feel welcome, needed and safe. 

Gender Health Center: The Gender Health Center is a non-profit organization meeting the counseling needs of the Sacramento community and surrounding areas by making services accessible to under-served communities, including the LGBTQQI community and focusing on transgender health.
